Summary: The Crematory Operator will properly receive and process human remains and ensures that the cremated remains are returned to the authorized person(s) according to organization procedures and applicable Federal, State and Municipal regulations.
Requirements: Position Responsibilities:
General maintenance of the cremation premises and equipment while ensuring equipment is efficiently used.
Maintain working knowledge of all relevant cremation equipment.
Maintain and verify all relevant (local, state, and federal) documentation and records.
Document and verify the recording of actual times of cremations, consumption of fuel, all emissions and other records which may apply.
Carry out the actual cremations of human remains and loading of the cremation machine(s).
Transport cremated remains.
Comply with all relevant local, state and federal regulations including the EPA.
Adhere to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
Adherence to the Code of Conduct
Performs other duties as assigned.

License and Credentials:
Valid driver license
Valid vehicle insurance
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of and ability to keep equipment up to the Health and Safety standards of state;
Extensive working knowledge of Cemetery laws and applicable Texas Statues and Rules;
Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Applications;
Must be able to work with funeral directors and bereaved family members;
Must be able to work in an environment that deals with deceased;
Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
Must have good written and verbal skills;
Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
