Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding families through the funeral process with empathy and professionalism. This role requires a strong understanding of funeral directing, event planning, and bereavement support, ensuring that each service is personalized to meet the needs of the deceased and their loved ones.
Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, a family-owned funeral home with over 65 years, established history in Clark County is looking for a Funeral Director to join our team. The applicant must have a professional license in good standing from the state of Washington.
The focus areas for this new director will be:
1) Working with families in arrangements and public services, along with completing necessary administrative work. To that end, strong organizational skills, self-motivated task management, and stellar communication skills are key to succeeding here.
2) The applicant will also be expected to be on-call as part of a rotation as well as have the physical capability to go on first calls when needed.
3) Other tasks include driving company vehicles for services and errands, conducting or assisting with funeral service and arrangements.
Due to the nature of our work, punctuality and dependability are paramount.
This funeral director position has a base schedule of 40 hours per week; this translates to working a 5-day workweek with two day off with a on call rotation. Any new employee will also undergo a ninety-day probationary period to ensure a mutually agreeable work situation.

- Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for preparing the deceased respectfully.
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to empathize with grieving families.
- Experience in event planning to ensure seamless execution of memorial services.
- Familiarity with cosmetology practices for preparing the deceased for viewing is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with families and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings and weekends during services.
