Compassionate Hospice Care has an immediate opening for a Chaplain. This is a part time position responsible for assessing, implementing and coordinating the general Chaplaincy Services and Pastoral care of patients, families, and staff members, including direct care, bereavement, and education programs. Provides support to Compassionate Hospice Care support groups and community functions. Bridge to religious community.
Knowledge/Abilities:
- Pastoral counseling skills and knowledge of family dynamics to serve the patients, their families and Hospice staff and volunteers
- Knowledge of hospice care services and regulations
- Knowledge of local religious community and community organizations
- Knowledge of documentation processes
- Knowledge of hospice philosophy
- Able to demonstrate maturity, dependability, positive attitude, professionalism, confidentiality
- Able to work as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team
- Public speaking skills
- Able to support family needs in providing memorial/funeral services
- Able to function effectively with all technology required for position (smartphone, computer)
Position Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
- Valid Colorado state drivers license and reliable transportation
- Comfort in an interfaith setting.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values.
- Hospice experience preferred
